Questions

How SourcePlants works.

For growers putting their availability up, buyers looking for stock, and farms already on Terrace.

For growers

How do I get my availability on SourcePlants?

Upload the list you already send out: an Excel or CSV file, a PDF, a Word document, or a photo of a printed sheet, up to 40 MB. We read it, show you a summary, and you publish it with one button.

Do I have to reformat my list?

No. Plant names, abbreviations and container sizes are read the way you print them, and matched to the plants buyers search for. Anything we are not sure of is set aside for you to check rather than guessed at.

How do I keep it current?

Upload this week’s list and your listings update in place. Plants missing from the new list are never changed until you say so. Once we know your list’s layout, weekly updates can publish themselves, and we email you what changed with an Undo.

Can I keep my prices or quantities private?

Yes. In What buyers see, turn off prices and every listing reads “On request”; turn off quantities and buyers see in stock or sold out, never a number. What you hide is kept off your public listings entirely, not just hidden on the screen.

What does it cost?

Every grower starts with 30 days free, with no card, counted from the day your first list goes live. After that the Farm plan is $30 a month (or $300 a year) per farm, with 2 accounts included and $10 a month for each one after. If you don’t subscribe, your listings pause; nothing is deleted.

For buyers

Is it free to search?

Yes. Anyone can search every grower’s availability and see their pages, stock and prices, signed in or not.

How do I contact a grower?

Their phone, email and address, messages, and requests for quote are on the Trade plan: $10 a month for each account, with the first month free. Farms on the Farm plan can already contact other growers.

Do you handle orders or payments?

No. You deal with the grower directly, the way you do today. SourcePlants is where you find the stock and start the conversation; it is not a party to the sale.

What does “Call for availability” mean?

Many growers don’t publish counts. It means the plant is on their list and they’d rather you ask; it never means out of stock.

Privacy and your data

Who sees my farm’s contact details?

Your farm page shows your name, town, listings and photos. Your phone, email and street address are shown only to signed-in buyers on a plan that includes contacting growers, and only a limited number of farms per person each day, so nobody can collect the directory. Your location is rounded to about half a mile.

Who sees the file I upload?

Only the people on your farm’s account. What buyers see is what you publish from it, and we never sell your data or show ads.

SourcePlants and Terrace

What is Terrace?

Terrace is the operating system for growers: inventory, orders, customers and invoicing for nurseries, tree farms, sod farms and greenhouses, in one place. SourcePlants is built by the same team.

I use Terrace. Do I pay for SourcePlants?

No. SourcePlants is included with your Terrace account. When you sign up, tell us which Terrace farm is yours (founders@terracetech.co) and we’ll mark your plan as included.

Do I need Terrace to use SourcePlants?

No. Any grower can list on SourcePlants from the lists they already make. Terrace is there when you want to run the rest of the farm in one place too.
